The 1,900 mile, 42/36 inch Alliance pipeline transports 1.325 bcf/d of natural gas from northeastern British Columbia and northwestern Alberta to markets near Chicago in the Midwestern United States.

Major highlights of this project include:
14 river crossings were made by directional drill including the 4,400 feet Mississippi River
Seven (7) contractors worked simultaneously to complete the pipeline construction over two years
Pipeline route crossed substantial lengths of wetlands in North Dakota requiring special construction techniques and concrete weighting
The pipeline route crossed very fertile agricultural lands requiring conservation of topsoil

Sherman Extension Pipeline Project

The Sherman Extension will be comprised of 178-miles of 36-inch diameter pipeline and two (2) electric drive compressor stations, originating at a central delivery point on Enterprise's Texas intrastate pipeline system near Morgan Mill, Texas (southwest of Fort Worth) and will extend through the center of the current Barnett Shale development area to Sherman, Texas. From there, it will connect with Boardwalk's 42-inch Gulf Crossing Expansion, which features interconnects with seven major interstate pipelines, including the Transcontinental Pipeline Company system that accesses markets in the Northeast. The Sherman Extension will provide up to 1.1 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d) of takeaway capacity for natural gas production in the growing Barnett Shale area of North Texas.

Trunkline Gas Company

Cypress Compressor Station 31

The Trunkline Gas project consisted of mechanical, piping, civil, structural, electrical and controls installation for a new 7,000 HP electric motor driven centrifugal compressor package and all associated appurtenances, PCR building, substation and modifications to the existing power distribution system.

The two skid packaged compressor unit manufactured by Solar Turbines, consists of one skid with a C-401 centrifugal gas compressor, and a second skid with the Siemens motor, on and off skid control boxes, lube oil system and Lufkin Gearbox.

Enbridge Pipeline Project

Services Include: Project Management, Design Engineering, Pipeline Survey, Procurement, Construction Management

270-miles of Greenfield 36- and 24-inch high pressure main line natural gas transmission is currently under construction and should be completed by 2008. Three interconnect MAR stations and one compressor station.

Major highlights of this project include:
State of the art GIS based remote assessments for accelerated design, survey, ROW acquisition and permitting
Web based project management and project controls
Real time web based inter disciplinary, interactive progress, project and reporting development
High content of corporate and timber land owners
Extremely aggressive schedule of 24 months

CrossTex Pipeline Project

Services Include: Design Engineering and Pipeline Survey

A 145-mile, 24-inch o.d. natural gas pipeline from the Chief Gas Plant north of Fort Worth, Texas to NGPL facilities outside Paris, Texas was comprised of a 20-mile gathering system and 125-mile transmission system.

Major highlights of this project include:
Ten (10) designed horizontal directional drills including crossings of the Trinity and Sulphur Rivers
Preliminary and as-built surveys were compiled by GPS RTK data collection

Regency Gas Pipeline Project

North Louisiana Enhancement

Services Include: Pipeline, Survey, Compressor, Right-of-Way, Inspection, Construction Management

This project was designed to loop approximately 50-miles of existing North Louisiana assets and to construct approximately 80-miles of a 30-inch header to connect multiple interstate and intrastate pipelines to transport north Louisiana production to market.

The scope of work included pipeline design, launcher and receiver design capable of ILI pigging operations, mainline valve settings, multiple ultrasonic and orifice meter station design and a 10,000 HP mainline compressor station design. The project team was responsible for right-of-way acquisition, environmental permitting, survey, preparation of regulatory filings, preparation of 311 filing, mapping, certified plats, pipeline and station engineering and design, HDD design, procurement, non-environmental permitting, contractor bid evaluation and selection recommendation, project management, construction inspection, construction management and closure packages.

Keystone Pipeline Project

Universal is under contract to provide survey and design engineering for a 1,730-kilometer 30- and 24-inch diameter Keystone Pipeline Project to transport two main products heavy-oil blend and synthetic crude. This project represents the United States portion of a proposed pipeline system from Hardisty, Alberta to Patoka, Illinois. This project is scheduled to begin commercial operation in 2009.

Nicor Gas Company

Troy Grove Storage Facility Unit 51

Universal provided engineering, design, drafting, material procurement assistance, and prepared as-built drawings for the installation of a 15,000 HP Solar Mars 100 gas turbine coupled with a Dresser Rand DR 12R5S centrifugal compressor at Nicor's Troy Grove storage facility.

The new unit was designed to operate in concert with multiple existing units already in service at the Troy Grove facility and have an operating design capability of discharging the gas into either a system with an MAOP of 858 psig or a system with an MAOP of 1,060 psig.

Northwestern Natural Gas Company

Oakland Compressor Station

Engineering design, drafting and material procurement assistance was provided for the installation of a Solar Mars T-15000S gas turbine coupled with a re-wheeled Solar C65 centrifugal compressor at Oakland, Iowa Compressor Station.

This new unit was designed to operate in concert with multiple existing units already in service at the Oakland facility and have an operating design capability of discharging the gas into a system with an MAOP of 1,000 psig.

North Texas Pipeline Project

Services Include: Project Management, Design Engineering, Pipeline Survey, Procurement

An 85-mile, 30-inch high pressure natural gas pipeline from Paris, Texas to Forney, Texas was built to service the largest combined cycle power plant (1,625 MW).

Major highlights of this project include:
 Multiple directional drills
Major design modifications to an existing compressor station to accommodate and deliver to a 30-inch pipeline system
Development of multiple temporary dam and pump stations to move hydrostatic test water approximately 10-miles from the source to the pipeline fill station
Project was completed ahead of schedule and below budget

Texas Department of Transportation

Performed GPS positioning and inventory of 144,000-miles of country roads in Texas for the purpose of including their exact location on the State of Texas GIS Database. Work included traversing all roads with a truck mounted mobile GPS unit and satellite base station. Sub-meter accuracy was obtained for horizontal geographical positions.

Dominion Transmission, Inc.
